WORKING SAFELY IN YOUR HOME

Version 1 - 15th May 2020

In line with Government guidance my intention is to return to work in people’s homes from the 1st June onwards .

This guidance has been prepared to ensure that I can work safely in your home and protect myself and you, as my customer.

These guidelines will be reviewed regularly in line with Government updates.

What you can expect from me:

  • I will contact you prior to any visit to discuss how the work can be carried out to minimise risk to all parties

  • On entry into your home I will need access to a sink to wash my hands for 20 seconds.

  • I will bring my own soap and towel to use

  • Before leaving your home, I will surface clean all areas I have touched with anti-bacterial spray

  • If myself or someone in my household has COVID-19 symptoms I will self-isolate as per government regulations and notify you that I am unable to work in your home until the end of my period of self-isolation

  • I will bring my own food and drink and will take my breaks outside

  • At the end of my working day/end of the job, I will remove all waste from the work area.

What I expect from my customers:

  • Identification of ‘busy’ areas in your household, for example, stairs and corridors and minimising movement within these areas if I need to use them

  • Access to your bathroom to ensure that I comply with the Governments guidance to wash my hands for 20 seconds upon arrival at your home.

  • If you are not happy with me accessing your toilet, I will use hand sanitiser when I enter your home. I will also need to go home within work time if I need to use toilet facilities

  • Please try to leave all doors open to minimise my contact with door handles (unless I am working in a room where I need to shut the door to minimise dust in your home)

  • If you or anyone in your home has COVID-19 symptoms you will contact me to inform me that I cannot work in your home until after the last day of the relevant isolation period

If you or someone in your household is clinically vulnerable, but has not been asked to shield:

  • We need to ensure we minimise face to face contact. This may involve me ringing you when I arrive at your home so you can open the door and then move into another room so I enter your home safely

  • It may also involve having a telephone conversation to discuss my work rather than talking face to face

If you or someone in your home is clinically extremely vulnerable and you have been advised to shield:

  • My recommendation is that I do not work in your household at this time to minimise risks.

Please note social distancing of 2 metres will apply at all times.
